Is there a “perfect body?”

A text by ANA NOGUEIRA, 9th B - 14 years old

The expression "perfect body" doesn´t exist!
In fact, nothing in the world is perfect. There are many things that influence people negatively related to the body. These are magazines, TV, Internet: in a few words - The Media.Media misleads people with perfect images that aren´t true.
Many teenagers are always thinking about their body - if they are fat or thin and that is ridiculous!
The body isn´t going to show anything different, but you!
This problem, of being obsessed with the body, brings many health problems like anorexia, bulimia and steroids abuse.
If people want to feel good about themselves, they just need to follow a good diet and do physical exercise.
Remember, our body is our life!
Just be yourself with no shame!

TEENAGERS & BODY IMAGE

A text by ANDREIA COSTA, 9th A - 14 years old

BODY IMAGE

I believe when we become teenagers, body image is one of the aspects we start worrying about. I think this concern is a natural act, but after a while it starts influencing you.

We all read magazines, watch movies, surf the internet. We all have our role model, style, preferences. But do we choose them, because our friends did it, or because we think it´s the best for us?

My thoughts are that most teenage boys and girls make their choices keeping in mind their friend´s opinion or a magazine article.

Some teen have an obsession on looking perfect, having a perfect style, having a perfect haircut, having the perfect body. All this is influenced by magazines photos, models, actors - you name it!

My opinion is that we must look for something that makes us feel good and proud about who we are. The problem is our society. The image comes first, but we must fight agains it!
